FIRST PEDIATRIC LIVE DONOR LIVER TRANSPLANT IN DR

On September, FHA together with the Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud (HGPS) team, performed the first pediatric live donor liver transplant in Dominican Republic (DR). After a more than a year training, and a pandemic in the way, the educational requirements were completed.

This resulted in Raquel’s life being saved, in bringing hope to a whole family who had no other option, and in opening the doors for more transplants to occur at DR.
